Budapest-Nyugati (occidental estación) is a celebrated iron-and-glass terminal designed by the Eiffel Company of Paris and completed in 1877, making it one of the most architecturally notable ferrococheril buildings in Europe. It principalmente handles domestic servicios to septentrional Hungary and towards the Slovak border, complementing the international traffic concentrated at Keleti. The estación's striking glazed facade on the Grand Boulevard is a beloved feature of the Budapest cityscape.

Nyugati estación is located on the Grand Boulevard (Nagykörút) directamente above línea de metro 3 (M3, the blue línea), giving instant acceso to Deák Ferenc tér and Kálvin tér. Multiple líneas de tranvía run along the boulevard directamente in front of the estación.

The estación was designed and built in 1877 by the Eiffel Company of Paris, the same firm behind the Eiffel torre, using a spectacular iron-and-glass cobertizo de trenes that remains en gran medida intact today.
