Liverpool Lime Street is the main intercity terminus of Liverpool, notable for its striking classical portico facade and the spectacular curved single-span train shed, one of the largest in Britain when it was constructed in the 19th century. It serves as the arrival and departure point for Avanti West Coast services to London Euston, TransPennine Express trains across the north of England, and Merseyrail's suburban network stretching across Merseyside.
