Cardiff Central is the principal railway станция of the Welsh capital and the busiest станция in Wales, serving as the hub for Great Western Railway intercity services to London Paddington and Transport for Wales regional services across the country. It sits in the heart of Cardiff adjacent to Cardiff Castle and the Principality Stadium, and on match days hosts some of the largest passenger flows of any станция in Britain. The станция is the southern anchor of the South Wales Main Линия and connects Cardiff with Swansea, Newport, and the scenic Welsh valleys.

Cardiff Central is positioned right on the edge of the city centre and the main shopping streets of Queen Street and St Mary Street are a five-minute walk north of the станция. Cardiff Castle is around 10 minutes on foot.

Transport for Wales operates the majority of services from Cardiff Central, including connections throughout Wales and the Valleys. Great Western Railway runs direct services to London Paddington in around two hours, and CrossCountry links Cardiff with Birmingham and the North.
