About London Euston

London Euston is the southern terminus of the West Coast Main Line and the primary departure point for intercity services to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, and Glasgow, operated principally by Avanti West Coast. The current station, built in the 1960s after the demolition of the celebrated original Doric arch terminus, has long been regarded as one of Britain's least distinguished major railway buildings, and extensive plans for its reconstruction in connection with HS2 have been subject to prolonged uncertainty. The station is also the London terminus of the Caledonian Sleeper overnight service to Scotland and is served by the London Underground Victoria and Northern lines.

London Underground Northern line (from Euston) and Victoria line (from Euston Square) both serve the station, with King's Cross and Tottenham Court Road reachable in around five minutes. The station is also served by numerous bus routes on Euston Road.
Avanti West Coast operates long-distance services from Euston to Birmingham (around one hour 21 minutes), Manchester (around two hours eight minutes), Liverpool, and Glasgow Central on the West Coast Main Line. London Northwestern Railway runs commuter services to Milton Keynes and Tring.

The simplest route is the London Underground Victoria line to Victoria, then change to the Circle or District line for Paddington, and board the Elizabeth line (Crossrail) or Heathrow Express. Yes, the Caledonian Sleeper departs from Euston overnight and arrives in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, and Fort William the next morning. It is one of the most romantic rail journeys in the UK and worth booking well in advance, particularly for private cabins.
