About London Liverpool Street
London Liverpool Street is one of London's busiest mainline termini, serving as the hub for Greater Anglia intercity services to Norwich and Cambridge, c2c services to Southend, and the Elizabeth line (Crossrail) running east-west beneath central London. Opened in 1874, the station underwent a major Victorian Gothic revival restoration in the late 1980s that preserved its original iron and glass train shed while adding modern passenger facilities. Its location in the City of London's financial district makes it one of the most commercially important stations in Britain, carrying enormous volumes of commuter traffic on weekday mornings and evenings.
