South Korea's high-speed rail service, launched in 2004 using technology derived from the French TGV. The KTX operates at up to 305 km/h and connects Seoul to Busan in approximately 2 hours 15 minutes. The newer KTX-Eum, a domestically developed EMU, entered service in 2021 for shorter high-speed routes.
