Glasgow Queen Street is the city's second mainline terminus, situated in the commercial heart of Glasgow and serving as the primary station for intercity services to Edinburgh via the Queen Street High Level platforms and suburban services on the Low Level Argyle and North Clyde lines. The Edinburgh–Glasgow main line between the two stations is one of the most intensively used intercity corridors in Britain, with LNER Azuma trains completing the journey in around fifty minutes. A major station redevelopment was completed in 2020, delivering an expanded and modernised concourse and improved accessibility.

Queen Street station exits directly onto George Square, Glasgow's main civic square, placing you right in the city centre. Buchanan Street shopping zone is a two-minute walk and the Buchanan Street subway station is just around the corner.
ScotRail operates express services from Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley via Falkirk High in around 50 minutes, as well as trains to Dundee, Aberdeen, Inverness, and the West Highlands. It is the main terminal for northbound and eastbound Scottish destinations.
