Zagreb Glavni kolodvor — Zagreb Main Station — is Croatia's principal railway hub, an ornate late-19th-century building that anchors the city's historic Lower Town and faces the famous King Tomislav Square. It serves domestic intercity routes to Split, Rijeka, and Osijek as well as international connections towards Ljubljana, Budapest, Vienna, and further afield. Despite Croatia's expanding road network, the station remains the symbolic and operational heart of the national rail system.

The main station is located at the southern edge of Zagreb's Lower Town, roughly a ten-minute walk from the main square (Trg bana Jelačića) via the green horseshoe parks. Tram lines 2, 4, 6, 9, and 13 stop directly in front of the station and connect to the city centre in minutes.
Croatian Railways (HŽ) runs international services from Zagreb to Ljubljana, Budapest, Vienna, Munich, and Zurich. Direct night trains to various Central European cities make Zagreb a useful hub for rail travel across the region.
A left-luggage office is located inside the main station building and is open daily. The service is operated by Croatian Railways staff and charges a modest hourly or daily rate per item.
Croatian Railways operates a scenic day service and a night train from Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor to Split on the Dalmatian coast, with the journey taking roughly six hours. The route passes through the Lika region and offers dramatic mountain and canyon scenery.
The neo-classical 1892 station building houses a ticket hall, waiting rooms, a café and restaurant, a newsagent, and ATM machines. Tourist information is available nearby in the city centre, and taxi stands and bus stops are directly in front of the main entrance.
