🇫🇷 Dives – Cabourg

Dives-Cabourg station is about a 15-minute walk from Cabourg's famous Grand Hotel and the seafront promenade. Walk north through the resort town to reach Marcel Proust's favourite beach.

TER Normandie trains on the Lisieux-Dives-Cabourg coastal branch serve the station. From Lisieux, connections to Paris and Caen are available. The line terminates here at the coast.

Dives-Cabourg station has limited facilities. The station is small and serves the twin towns of Dives-sur-Mer and Cabourg. The resort area is walkable from the station.

Cabourg's Belle Epoque Grand Hotel inspired the fictional Balbec in Marcel Proust's 'In Search of Lost Time.' The Marcel Proust promenade along the seafront honours his stays here. Dives-sur-Mer has the medieval William the Conqueror market hall and the church where he is said to have prayed before invading England in 1066.

Marcel Proust spent many summers at the Grand Hotel in Cabourg between 1907 and 1914. The resort became the model for the seaside town of Balbec in his masterwork 'In Search of Lost Time.' His room at the Grand Hotel has been preserved, and the town celebrates his legacy annually.
