🇫🇷 Le Mont-Dore

Le Mont-Dore station is about a 10-minute walk from the town centre and the thermal spa. Walk east along the main road towards the thermal establishment and the base of the Puy de Sancy.

TER Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes trains connect Le Mont-Dore to Clermont-Ferrand in about 70 minutes. The scenic mountain line climbs through the volcanic landscapes of the Massif Central. Services run several times daily.

Luggage storage at Le Mont-Dore is limited. The station is small with basic facilities. The thermal spa town is compact and walkable.

The Puy de Sancy, the highest point in central France at 1,886 metres, is accessible by cable car from the town. Le Mont-Dore has been a thermal spa resort since Roman times. The town offers skiing in winter and hiking among the volcanic landscapes in summer.
