🇨🇭 Leysin-Feydey

Leysin-Feydey is the upper terminus of the Aigle–Leysin rack railway, connecting to the main SBB network at Aigle. From Aigle, mainline trains run to Lausanne, Montreux, and the Rhône valley.

Transports Publics du Chablais (TPC) operates the Aigle–Leysin rack railway serving this station. The cogwheel train climbs over 1,000 meters of elevation from the Rhône valley to Leysin.

Leysin-Feydey station offers basic mountain railway facilities with a small waiting area. The station is situated in the upper part of Leysin village, convenient for ski lifts and hotels.

Leysin is a mountain resort at 1,260 meters known for skiing, paragliding, and the Kuklos revolving restaurant. The village hosts several international schools and offers panoramic views of the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc.

The Aigle–Leysin railway opened in 1900 to serve the booming tuberculosis sanatorium industry in Leysin. The pure mountain air attracted patients from across Europe, and the rack railway was essential for transporting them to the high-altitude clinics.
