🇮🇹 Reggio Emilia

Reggio Emilia's main station is centrally located, just a short walk from Piazza Prampolini and the historic centre. Note that the high-speed Mediopadana station is a separate station outside the city, connected by shuttle bus.

Trenitalia regional trains connect Reggio Emilia to Parma, Modena, and Bologna on the Milan-Bologna line. For high-speed Frecciarossa services, passengers use the Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana station, designed by Santiago Calatrava, located about 4 kilometres north of the city.

The station has a ticket office, automated machines, a waiting room, and a bar. It is a relatively compact station suited to the regional services it handles. Bicycle parking is available outside.

Reggio Emilia is the birthplace of the Italian tricolour flag, celebrated at the Museo del Tricolore. The city has an elegant historic centre with arcaded streets, the Romanesque cathedral, and Teatro Municipale. It is also known as a centre of the Emilia-Romagna food tradition.

Reggio Emilia is the city-centre station serving regional trains. Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana is the high-speed station on the Milan-Bologna AV line, located outside the city. The Mediopadana station is notable for its striking Calatrava-designed wave-like steel canopy, visible from the motorway.
