🇨🇭 Schwarzenburg

Schwarzenburg is the terminus of the BLS narrow-gauge line from Bern, taking about 30 minutes. The station is at the edge of the Schwarzenburg village in the Gantrisch Nature Park area.

BLS regional trains connect Schwarzenburg to Bern on a dedicated narrow-gauge line. The service runs at least hourly. Schwarzenburg is the end of the line, with PostBus connections to surrounding villages.

Schwarzenburg station has basic facilities. The village centre is within walking distance. The station serves as the rail gateway to the Gantrisch Nature Park.

Schwarzenburg is the gateway to the Gantrisch Nature Park, a pre-Alpine region with hiking, mountain biking, and the Gantrisch panoramic viewpoint. The village has a castle (now municipal offices) and typical Bernese Mittelland architecture.

The Gantrisch Nature Park is a regional nature park in the Bernese pre-Alps, encompassing forests, moorlands, and mountains up to 2,175 metres. The area is known for dark skies ideal for stargazing, extensive hiking trails, and the dramatic Gantrisch summit panorama.
