🇫🇷 Tulle

Tulle station is centrally located along the narrow Correze valley, about a 5-minute walk from the old town and the cathedral. The town stretches linearly along the river, making navigation straightforward.

TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional trains connect Tulle to Brive-la-Gaillarde in about 30 minutes and to Ussel. Connections to Paris are made via Brive, where Intercites services run to Paris Austerlitz.

Luggage storage at Tulle is limited. The station has a ticket office and basic amenities. The town is small enough to explore on foot within a couple of hours.

Tulle's medieval cathedral with its distinctive bell tower rises above the narrow valley. The Cloitre de Tulle, a 13th-century cloister, is adjacent. The town gave its name to tulle fabric, used in veils and ballet tutus. The surrounding Correze countryside is ideal for rural tourism.

Tulle is the prefecture of the Correze department and has been an important arms manufacturing centre since the 18th century. The town suffered a tragic massacre by the SS Das Reich division in June 1944, commemorated by a memorial. It is also notable as the political base of former President Francois Hollande.
