🇨🇭 Lachen

Lachen station is about a 5-minute walk from the shore of Lake Zurich's upper basin (Obersee). Walk north towards the harbour and the lakeside promenade.

SBB S-Bahn trains connect Lachen to Zurich in about 40 minutes via Pfaffikon SZ. The station is on the Zurich-Glarus line along the southern shore of the upper Lake Zurich.

Lachen station has luggage lockers and basic facilities. The station serves the town and the broader March district of Schwyz canton.

Lachen has a pleasant lakeside setting on the Obersee with swimming areas and a marina. The town is the administrative centre of the March district. The nearby Nuolen swimming area and the views across the lake to the Glarner Alps are scenic highlights.

The Obersee is the upper, narrower section of Lake Zurich, separated from the main lake by the Seedamm causeway at Rapperswil. Lachen sits on its southern shore, offering a quieter lakeside experience than the busy Zurich end of the lake. The water is known for excellent swimming in summer.
