Kandersteg Hakkında

Kandersteg istasyon is situated at the northern entrance için the Lötschberg Tunnel in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. Luggage lockers are available at Kandersteg station. The station has a ticket office and is within walking distance of the village centre. The car-loading facility is adjacent to the passenger platforms.

The Oeschinensee, a stunning alpine lake accessible by gondola and a short hike, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kandersteg offers excellent hiking in summer and cross-country skiing in winter. The Blausee nature park with its crystal-clear lake is nearby.

The Lotschberg car tunnel shuttle carries vehicles through the mountain from Kandersteg to Goppenstein in about 15 minutes, avoiding the high mountain passes. Cars drive onto flat rail wagons at Kandersteg station. This service has operated since 1913, making it one of the oldest car shuttles in Europe.
