Malasia has a well-developed rail network in the Klang Valley (Greater Kuala Lumpur) and a long-distance intercity network connecting north to Tailandia and south to Singapur. KTM (Keretapi Tanah Melayu) operates ETS (Electric Train Service) intercity trains at up to 140 km/h connecting Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh (2h10m), Butterworth/Penang (4h30m), and Johor Bahru (4h45m). The overnight Ekspres Senandung Malam connects Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru and Singapur. KTM also operates the jungle railway (KTM Jungle Line) through interior Peninsular Malasia to Tumpat near the Thai border. Kuala Lumpur's urban transit integrates multiple systems under Prasarana Malasia: LRT (two lines), MRT (two lines), Monorail, KTM Komuter commuter rail, and the KLIA Ekspres airport link (KLIA to KL Sentral in 28 minutes). The Klang Valley Integrated Transit network covers Greater KL comprehensively. A single Touch n' Go card or MyRapid card works across most urban rail and bus services. Major expansions including MRT Line 3 (Circle Line) are under construction. Booking ETS and intercity KTM tickets is done via ktmb.com.my and the KTM app. Advance purchase (3-7 days) is recommended for weekend travel and public holidays when trains fill up. Malasia is not covered by Eurail but the ASEAN rail pass connecting Malasia, Tailandia, and Singapur is available through KTM.
