Orbetello-Monte Argentario estación serves the lagoon town of Orbetello and the Monte Argentario peninsula on the Tuscan coast. Monte Argentario is a promontory connected to the Tuscan mainland by three causeways enclosing the Orbetello lagoon. Its two main villages, Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole, are fashionable summer destinations. Caravaggio died in Porto Ercole in 1610. Ferries depart for the island of Giglio.
