La gare de Brienz est située sur la rive nord du lac de Brienz dans l'Oberland bernois, en Suisse, desservie par le S-Bahn BLS. Brienz is on the Zentralbahn line between Interlaken Ost and Meiringen, about 20 minutes from Interlaken. The train runs along the northern shore of Lake Brienz, offering stunning turquoise lake views. A paddle steamer also connects Brienz to Interlaken in summer.

The Brienz Rothorn Bahn, a historic steam-powered cog railway, departs from next to the station and climbs to 2,350 metres for panoramic views over Lake Brienz and the Bernese Alps. It is one of Switzerland's last regularly operated steam rack railways.

Luggage lockers are available at Brienz station. The station is small but serves as the departure point for the Rothorn steam railway. The lakeside setting is immediately accessible from the platform.

Brienz is famous for its wood carving tradition and the Ballenberg Swiss Open-Air Museum, which showcases over 100 historic buildings from across Switzerland. The Giessbach Falls, cascading into Lake Brienz, are reached by historic funicular from the lake steamer landing.

The Brienz Rothorn Bahn is a steam-powered cog railway that has operated since 1892. Original and replica steam locomotives push carriages up the 7.6 km line to the 2,350-metre summit. The round trip takes about two hours and offers views across the entire Bernese Oberland.
