Ancona Centrale is located near the port area, about a 15-minute walk uphill to the historic centre and cathedral. Local buses connect the station to various parts of the city. The Passetto beach area is accessible by bus in about 10 minutes.
Ancona is served by Trenitalia Frecce high-speed trains to Rome and Milan, as well as InterCity services along the Adriatic coast to Rimini, Bologna, and Lecce. Regional trains connect to smaller Marche towns and inland destinations like Fabriano and Foligno.

Ancona's ferry terminal is adjacent to the railway station, making rail-ferry connections straightforward. Ferries depart regularly to Split and other Croatian ports, as well as to Igoumenitsa and Patras in Greece. The short walk between platforms and quay takes about 10 minutes.
