Foire aux questions

Latour-de-Carol is a tri-border junction reachable by three different rail systems: SNCF trains from Toulouse via the scenic Ariege valley, Renfe trains from Barcelona, and the narrow-gauge Train Jaune from Villefranche-de-Conflent. It sits at 1,230 metres altitude in the Pyrenees.
Three different rail systems meet here: SNCF Intercites and TER from Toulouse, Renfe regional trains from Barcelona via the Puigcerda border, and the SNCF Train Jaune narrow-gauge line. This makes it one of Europe's most unusual railway junctions.
Luggage storage at Latour-de-Carol is limited. The station is small but historically significant. A waiting room and basic amenities are available. Connection times between services can be lengthy.
The Train Jaune (Yellow Train) is a narrow-gauge railway running 63 kilometres from Latour-de-Carol to Villefranche-de-Conflent through spectacular Pyrenean landscapes. It crosses the Pont Gisclard suspension bridge and the Pont Sejourne viaduct, reaching 1,593 metres at Bolquere, the highest SNCF station.
The station is in the Cerdagne, a high plateau shared between France and Spain. The solar furnace at Font-Romeu, cross-country skiing, and the medieval enclave of Llivia (a Spanish town entirely surrounded by France) are nearby. The Pyrenean landscapes are dramatic year-round.
