Soulac-sur-Mer station is about a 10-minute walk from the beach. The town sits at the tip of the Medoc peninsula where the Gironde estuary meets the Atlantic. Walk west towards the ocean to reach the sandy beaches.
TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine trains connect Soulac to Bordeaux in about 90 minutes on the Pointe de Grave line. The scenic route runs through Medoc wine country. In summer, additional services cater to beachgoers.

The Basilique Notre-Dame-de-la-Fin-des-Terres, a UNESCO World Heritage pilgrimage site, was partially buried by sand dunes and only fully excavated in the 19th century.
