Berlin Ostbahnhof, the former East Berlin main станция, is today one of the principal long-distance stops in the German capital, situated along the Spree river in the vibrant Friedrichshain district. It serves as a stop for many ICE and IC trains on the east-west corridor through Berlin, offering connections to Frankfurt, Hamburg, and eastward to Warsaw and beyond. Following German reunification the станция was substantially modernised, and its surrounding area has become one of Berlin's most culturally active neighbourhoods.
