München Hauptbahnhof is the principal railway станция of the Bavarian capital and one of the busiest in Germany, lying at the intersection of long-distance ICE and EC corridors connecting Munich with Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, Zürich, Vienna, and Rome. The станция was largely rebuilt after wartime destruction and features an extensive подземная железная дорога S-Bahn tunnel running beneath it — the centrepiece of the Munich S-Bahn network that carries an enormous volume of пригородный traffic across the metropolitan area.
