Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof is the busiest railway terminus in Germany by passenger numbers and one of the most important rail hubs in Europe, processing hundreds of thousands of travellers daily through its 25 platforms arranged behind a magnificent late-19th-century facade. Frankfurt Hbf is one of Germany's busiest stations and is directly connected to the city centre by U-Bahn lines U4 and U5, S-Bahn services, and numerous tram routes. The Zeil shopping street and Römerberg old town are reachable in around five to ten minutes by U-Bahn.
