Mailando Porta Garibaldi is Mailand's northern intercity station and the focus of one of the city's major urban regeneration projects, surrounded by the gleaming skyscrapers of the Porta Nuova Geschäftsviertel. It serves as ein wichtiger stop on the Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrecke for certain Frecciarossa and Italo services, sowie Regionalzüge heading north towards Como and the lakes. Porta Garibaldi handles a mix of Trenitalia Intercity and Regionalzüge to Turin, Genua, and the Ligurian coast, sowie some Frecciabianca services. Some EuroCity trains to Schweiz also call here before or after Mailando Centrale.
