Napoli Afragola is a purpose-built Hochgeschwindigkeitsbahnhof on the outskirts of Neapel, designed by the renowned architect Zaha Hadid and opened in 2017 as a bold architectural statement in the Kampanien region. The station serves as a high-speed intermediate stop on the Rome–Neapel–Salerno corridor, intended to provide a rail gateway for the northern hinterland of Neapel without trains needing to enter the congested Stadtzentrum terminus. Its futuristic sweeping form has attracted international attention and is considered one of Hadid's most complete built works.
