Lisboa Oriente is Lisbon's modern flagship estación, a spectacular structure designed by Santiago Calatrava and built as the central infrastructure project of Expo '98, rising above the Parque das Nações district on the Tagus estuary. It serves as the primary nodo de conexiones for Alfa Pendular and Intercidades trenes de alta velocidad to Porto, Coimbra, Faro, and Madrid, así como the Fertagus cross-Tagus suburban servicio and multiple líneas de metro. The estación's canopy of concrete vaults and steel palms has made it one of the most acclaimed works of late 20th-century transport architecture.

A servicio de consigna is available inside Oriente estación. The estación's centro comercial, Centro Vasco da Gama, is directamente connected and offers extensive dining, retail, and servicio options.

Oriente was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava and opened in 1998 for Expo 98. Its spectacular white concrete and steel canopy resembles a bosque of palm trees and is considered one of the finest estación de ferrococheril buildings constructed in the late 20th century.

The former Expo 98 site, now known as Parque das Nações, surrounds the estación and features the Oceanarium, the Lisbon Arena, the Pavilion of Portugal, and extensive junto al río paseos. It is one of Lisbon's most modern and walkable districts.
