Kandersteg is on the BLS Lotschberg line between Bern and Brig, reachable in about 70 minutes from Bern. Trains run frequently as the station also serves the Lotschberg car tunnel, which carries vehicles through the mountain between Kandersteg and Goppenstein.
BLS regional trains on the Lotschberg line serve Kandersteg. RegioExpress services connect to Bern, Thun, Spiez, and Brig. The station is also the loading point for the Lotschberg car shuttle through the base tunnel to Goppenstein on the Valais side.
