Murren is car-free and reached by a combination of train and cable car from Lauterbrunnen. Take the BLM cable car to Grutschalp, then a scenic narrow-gauge train along the cliff edge to Murren. The journey from Lauterbrunnen takes about 20 minutes and offers stunning valley views.
From Murren, the Schilthorn cable car ascends to 2,970 metres and the famous revolving restaurant Piz Gloria, which featured in the James Bond film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service.' The BLM train connects back to Lauterbrunnen via Grutschalp.
Luggage storage is available at the station. Murren is a small car-free village perched on a cliff at 1,650 metres, with just one main street. The station has basic facilities and a ticket counter.
Murren offers unobstructed views of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau from its cliff-edge position. The Schilthorn summit and Piz Gloria restaurant are the main excursion. The Allmendhubel funicular provides access to flower-filled alpine meadow walks.
