Hamburg-Altona is the western terminus станция of Hamburg's intercity rail network, serving the lively Altona district and acting as the starting point for numerous long-distance IC and ICE services heading to Cologne, Munich, and along the North Sea coast. Several ICE and IC services on the Hamburg-Cologne, Hamburg-Munich, and Hamburg-Frankfurt routes terminate at Hamburg Altona after also calling at Hamburg Hbf. If you are staying in the western part of Hamburg, boarding at Altona can save time.
