Villedieu-les-Poêles is a ga in the Manche department of Normandy in north-western France, serving a historic market town famous for its copper craftsmanship and bell foundry. Villedieu-les-Poeles (City of God of the Frying Pans) has been a centre of copperware production since the 12th century. The Atelier du Cuivre workshop demonstrates traditional copper-smithing. The Cornille-Havard bell foundry, one of the last in France, cast bells for Notre-Dame de Paris.
The Cornille-Havard bell foundry in Villedieu has been casting church bells since 1865. It is one of only two remaining bell foundries in France and cast the bells for the restoration of Notre-Dame de Paris. Visitors can tour the foundry and see the traditional sand-casting process.
