Overview
Formed in 1994 from the merger of the West and East German state railways after reunification, DB is Germany's national railway operator. It provides the full spectrum of passenger service, from high-speed and intercity trains to regional and overnight routes, across a network of roughly 20,000 stations. Its fastest trains run at up to 300 km/h, and its long-distance services reach much of neighboring central Europe.
