Wien Hauptbahnhof is Österreich's largest and most modern railway terminus, opened in 2014 on the site of the former Wien Südbahnhof after a decade-long redevelopment project that cost over one billion euros. The station is a through-running hub rather than a traditional terminus, handling all major Fernverkehrsdienste including Railjet, Nightjet, and Eurocity trains to destinations across Deutschland, Italien, Ungarn, and beyond, sowie Westbahn services to Salzburg. Fully integrated with the Wien U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and Straßenbahnnetz, it is one of Central Europe's most important passenger Umstieg hubs.
