Villach Hauptbahnhof is the Hauptbahnhof of Villach, the second-largest city in the Österreichn state of Carinthia and one of the most strategically important railway junctions in the Eastern Alps. It sits at the crossing of two major international corridors: the east–west Tauern Railway linking Salzburg with Slowenien and the south–north Drau valley line, with Railjet, Eurocity, and Nightjet services verbindend Österreich with Italien, Slowenien, Kroatien, and Deutschland. The station is also a starting point for exploring the Carinthian lake district, the Wörthersee, and the ski regions of Nassfeld and Bad Kleinkirchheim.
