🇦🇹 Salzburg Hbf

Salzburg Hauptbahnhof is north of the river, with Buslinien 1, 3, 5, 6, and 25 linking it to Mirabellplatz and the Altstadt in etwa zehn Minuten. The Trolleybus 1 is the most direct route and runs every fünf Minuten during the Tag.

Railjet and EuroCity services connect Salzburg to Wien, München, Zürich, and Venedig. Nightjet Schlafwagenzüge to Rome, Hamburg, and Amsterdam also depart from here, making Salzburg a gut vernetzt overnight travel hub.

The station has an ÖBB Reisezentrum, a large Geschäftping area with a Supermarkt, Apotheken, and Restaurants, plus Schließfächer on the lower level. The station underwent a full modernisation and is fully stufenfrei with Aufzüge to all Bahnsteige.

Multiple banks of self-service Schließfächer sind verfügbar at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof, convenient for visitors who wish to explore the Altstadt unencumbered before checking in to their accommodation. A staffed Gepäckaufbewahrung counter is also available during extended Stunden.

Regionalzüge reach Hallstatt (umsteigen in Attnang-Puchheim or Bad Ischl) in etwa 90 Minuten and Berchtesgaden in etwa eine Stunde. The Salzburg Surrounding Lakes — Wolfgangsee, Mondsee, and Fuschlsee — are barrierefrei by bus or seasonal lake steamer Verbindungen from central Salzburg.
