🇫🇷 Dieppe

Dieppe station is about a 10-minute walk from the beach and harbour. Walk north along Boulevard Marechal Joffre to reach the seafront promenade and the historic port area. The town is compact and most attractions are within walking distance.

TER Normandie regional trains connect Dieppe to Rouen in about 50 minutes, where passengers can change for Paris Saint-Lazare. Direct services to Paris are limited, so the Rouen connection is the standard route. The total journey to Paris takes about two hours.

Luggage storage options are limited at Dieppe station. The station is small with a ticket office and basic waiting facilities. The compact town means most visitors can manage with their luggage while exploring.

Dieppe's pebble beach and dramatic chalk cliffs are the main draws. The 15th-century castle houses a museum with an important collection of ivory carvings. The Saturday morning fish market at the port is one of the best in Normandy, and the town is known for its fresh seafood restaurants.

Dieppe was the site of the infamous 1942 Dieppe Raid during World War II, commemorated by several memorials. The town was also one of France's earliest seaside resorts, popularised by the Duchess of Berry in the 1820s. Its cross-Channel connections to Newhaven in England continue by ferry.
