Grenoble estación is the main ferrococheril nodo de conexiones of France's 'Capital of the Alps', a major university city and high-technology industrial centre set in a dramatic bowl surrounded by the Chartreuse, Vercors, and Belledonne massifs. The estación handles TGV servicios to Paris Gare de Lyon así como TER trenes regionales to Lyon, Valence, Chambéry, and Gap, providing acceso to the surrounding estaciones de esquí of the Alpes du Nord including Les Deux Alpes and Alpe d'Huez.
