Interlaken Ost is the principal ferrococheril puerta de entrada to the Bernese Oberland, sitting between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and serving as the salida point for the famous ferrococheril de montaña rutas that ascend to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, and the Jungfraujoch -- known as the 'Top of Europe'. The estación is the main intercambiador between SBB trenes interurbanos arriving from Bern and the de vía estrecha Bernese Oberland ferrococheril (BOB), Wengernalp ferrococheril (WAB), and Jungfrau ferrococheril, all of which use andenes adjacent to the main SBB hall. Its junto al lago setting and dramatic Alpine backdrop make Interlaken Ost one of the most scenic llegada experiences on the Swiss red ferroviaria.
