Interlaken Ost is the principal railway gateway to the Bernese Oberland, sitting between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and serving as the departure point for the famous mountain railway routes that ascend to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, and the Jungfraujoch -- known as the 'Top of Europe'.
