asíis is the lower terminal of the famous Rhaetian ferrococheril ruta through the Via Mala gorge and the Albula pass toward the Engadine, and marks the end of the standard-width RhB línea out of Chur before the rack-and-adhesion section begins. The estación sits in the Hinterrhein valle in the canton of Graubünden and provides the starting point for servicios on the Albula ferrococheril, part of the Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO Rhaetian ferrococheril in the Albula/Bernina Landscapes. visitantes heading to the Schams valle, the Via Mala natural gorge, and the medieval ruins of Hohenrätien castillo use asíis as their rail acceso point.

asíis is the traditional puerta de entrada to the Via Mala gorge and the Domleschg, a valle studded with more castillos per plaza kilometre than almost anywhere else in Switzerland. The town itself has a charming old quarter and makes a peaceful nocturno stop on the Graubünden circuit.
