The fastest THSR trains (non-stop Nangang-Zuoying) complete 345 km in 1h35m. Standard express services with stops at Banqiao, Taichung, Zuoying take 1h50m. With all 8 stops, journey time is about 2h. Trains depart every 15-30 menit during peak jams from Taipei Main Station.

The Taiwan pas kereta provides unlimited perjalanan on both THSR and TRA trains for 3, 5, or 10 days and is available only to foreign tourists. The Puyuma and Taroko express trains run along Taiwan's spectacular Pacific east coast via Hualien, passing near Taroko Gorge. The route uses tunnels through the Central Mountain Range.
