Thusis is the lower terminal of the famoso Rhaetian Railway route através de the Via Mala gorge and the Albula pass toward the Engadine, and marks the end of the standard-width RhB line out of Chur before the rack-and-adhesion section begins. The station sits in the Hinterrhein valley in the canton of Graubünden and oferece the starting point for services on the Albula Railway, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Rhaetian Railway in the Albula/Bernina Landscapes.
