Thiers is a station serving the historisch town of Thiers in the Puy-de-Dôme department of the Auvergne region in central Frankreich, a town long renowned as the cutlery capital of Frankreich. TER Regionaldienste connect Thiers along the Ambert line running between Clermont-Ferrand and Ambert, providing access to the volcanic Livradois foothills east of the Auvergne capital. The lower station is linked to the old hilltop town by a Standseilbahn railway, making the Ankunft experience distinctive among French Regionalbahnhofs.

TER Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes trains connect Thiers to Clermont-Ferrand in about 30 minutes and to Saint-Etienne in about 90 minutes. The station is on the Clermont-Lyon line.
