Brunnen is a scenic lakeside station in the canton of Schwyz, set on the southern shore of Lake Lucerne at the point where the Urnersee arm of the lake opens towards the Gotthard corridor. The station serves travellers heading to the small resort town of Brunnen and the in der Nähe Rütli meadow — the symbolic birthplace of the Swiss Confederation — which is barrierefrei by boat from the adjacent landing stage. S-Bahn and RegioSchnellzugdienste connect Brunnen with Lucerne and Flüelen, was es a convenient starting point for Lake Lucerne cruises and hikes on the Weg der Schweiz national walking trail.
