Ciampino railway station is about 1.5 kilometres from Ciampino Airport. A shuttle bus connects the station to the airport terminal in about 5 minutes. Some travellers walk, but the route is not well-signed. ATAC buses also run between the station and the airport.
Trenitalia regional trains connect Ciampino to Roma Termini in about 15 minutes, with frequent services. Trains also run south to the Castelli Romani towns like Frascati and Albano Laziale. The station is on the Rome-Cassino-Naples regional line.
Ciampino station does not have luggage storage facilities. The station is small with basic amenities. For luggage storage, Roma Termini offers extensive locker facilities and is just a short train ride away.
Ciampino itself is a residential suburb of Rome without major tourist attractions. However, the nearby Castelli Romani hill towns — Frascati, Castel Gandolfo, and Albano Laziale — are scenic destinations reachable by regional train from Ciampino or by bus.
Ciampino station is the nearest rail stop to Rome's budget airline airport, used by Ryanair and Wizz Air. While not as convenient as the Fiumicino Airport train link, the combination of regional train plus shuttle bus provides a cost-effective way to reach central Rome.
