Bellinzona is the cantonal capital of Ticino and an important rail junction in the southern Swiss Alps, where trains from the Gotthard and Lötschberg–Simplon routes converge before continuing towards Lugano, Locarno, and the Italian border. Bellinzona станция sits at the edge of the old town, making it walkable from the historic castles and piazza in around ten minutes. Local bus routes also connect the станция to the surrounding residential districts.
