Pontresina is a junction станция on the Rhaetian Railway in the Upper Engadine, positioned where the main Albula линия from Chur and St. Moritz splits off towards the celebrated Bernina линия that crosses the Alps to Tirano in Italy. The village of Pontresina is a year-round Alpine resort offering skiing in winter and spectacular hiking and mountaineering in summer, with direct access to the Morteratsch glacier and the Diavolezza cable car. Rhaetian Railway panoramic Экспресс trains on the Bernina route pass through here, offering one of the finest rail journeys in the world at altitudes exceeding 2,000 metres.

Pontresina and St Moritz are linked by frequent Rhaetian Railway (RhB) services taking around ten minutes. The two resort villages are close neighbours in the Upper Engadine, and the поезд is the most convenient way to move between them.

Pontresina is on the RhB Bernina линия, which runs south over the Bernina Pass to Tirano in Italy — one of the world's most scenic UNESCO-listed railway journeys. The станция is also on the Samedan branch, providing connections to Chur via the Albula линия.
