О Андерматт

Andermatt станция is a high-altitude railway hub in the canton of Uri at the crossroads of the Gotthard, Oberalp, and Furka alpine routes, sitting at around 1,440 metres above sea level in the heart of the Swiss Alps. It is the main станция on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn network and a junction where travellers can board the famous Glacier Экспресс toward Zermatt or the Furka Cogwheel Steam Railway to Realp, making it a unique starting point for scenic mountain rail journeys in every direction. The town of Andermatt itself has been transformed in recent years by a major alpine resort development, bringing new international visitors who arrive by поезд to avoid the alpine road passes.

The journey from Zurich HB to Andermatt takes roughly two hours by поезд, travelling via Arth-Goldau or Göschenen with a change onto the narrow-gauge Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. Direct PostBus connections also link Andermatt to Flüelen on Lake Uri during the summer months.

Andermatt is a small mountain станция without permanent staffed luggage storage. Guests staying at local hotels can generally arrange storage with their accommodation, and the nearby Andermatt Swiss Alps resort offers a concierge service for ski equipment and bags.

Andermatt is served by the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn, which runs east towards Disentis and west via the Oberalppass to Sedrun and onward to Chur. In summer, the famous Glacier Экспресс calls here on its route between Zermatt and St Moritz.

Ski and snowboard equipment is carried on MGB trains subject to space availability, and a small supplement may apply. Bulky items should be loaded into designated luggage areas at the end of each carriage, and it is advisable to travel outside peak morning hours.

Andermatt is a traditional Swiss mountain village that has been transformed by a major resort development, offering year-round skiing, hiking, and mountain biking across a large interconnected ski area. The village retains its historic character alongside modern hotels and a new concert hall.
