Thusis is the lower terminus of the famous Rhaetian Railway route through the Via Mala gorge and the Albula pass toward the Engadine, and marks the end of the standard-width RhB линия out of Chur before the rack-and-adhesion section begins. The станция sits in the Hinterrhein valley in the canton of Graubünden and provides the starting point for services on the Albula Railway, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Rhaetian Railway in the Albula/Bernina Landscapes. Visitors heading to the Schams valley, the Via Mala natural gorge, and the medieval ruins of Hohenrätien castle use Thusis as their rail access point.

Thusis is connected to Chur by Rhaetian Railway regional trains, with a journey time of around twenty-five minutes. Trains run every hour throughout the day, and the линия follows the scenic Domleschg valley through rolling farmland and medieval castles.

Thusis lies on the Rhaetian Railway mainline and is served by some Glacier Экспресс workings between Chur and St Moritz. Travellers should check current timetables as not all Glacier Экспресс services stop at Thusis; seat reservations are compulsory on this panoramic поезд.

Thusis is a small but well-maintained RhB станция with a waiting shelter, билет machine, and covered bicycle парковка. The village centre with shops and restaurants is just a short walk from the станция entrance.
